Memory usage overflow?

Today I was amazed when checking memory usage:

Is it a UI bug, or something wrong with the underlying measurement method?

What seems to be the problem, that's how much Memory was used in the past 3 hours

Thanks for the great explanation post.

I got the same result with 6 hours and 12 hours. And the "Free" is 0.00 B, which should mean (nearly?) all of the memory is used. But apparently this is not consistent with 240+ MB of usage, or the "9% average usage", or the seemingly full indicator bar.

you can check your real time RAM usage using apps like cpu z,
