GPS issue

So I've followed what's listed in this post in detail a couple of times and double and triple checked all settings, and I still can't get a GPS-fix in neither Endomondo nor GPS Status. Google Maps locates my position though. What on earth can it be? What can I have overlooked?

I have the same problem. GPS stopped suddenly. I use it to track my running. Completely disapointed. I used it for only 5 months and I have to buy another phone...

Obviously, it´s a hardware problem with the GPS . Sony would make a recall and give us new devices. Don´t you think so???

Does anyone from Sony ever read these forums? Or do they just hope that someone out there with a fix has nothing better to do and just read forums?

Same issue. Had phone 3 months, tracking runs almost daily with RunKeeper, suddenly will not get gps location. Have tried all suggestions, no joy. Had a z1(out of warranty) that had a similar issue and I found a screw inside kept coming loose. Loctite fixed that, but I have no intention of pulling my 'in warranty' phone apart.

Another guy with similar issues. My Z2 finds over 20 satellites at times but it never fixes them no matter how long i try. All of previously mentioned solutions including options via service code didn't work for me.

I have tried everything, even I sent my cellphone to repair at the factory but they returned it to me untouched

I think the solution is to buy an external bluetooth gps receiver and never buy anythig from Sony again

I have the same problem since three weeks. GPS worked now since november, but now it doesn't matter where I am, I've been to Italy, Germany and Tenerife now, only get sometimes a location in bigger cities (through mobile network and wifi I guess) and no more signal via "Device only"-mode. Maps is completely useless for me. Don't know the exact date of my last system update but it might be the point when GPS stoppped working.

Very frustrating, I thought I bought the perfect phone with the Z3 compact.. If Sony doesnt fix this, I'm gonna return it and go back to Blackberry.

UPDATE: Installed GPS Test and yep, what should I say, everything grey, no connection to any satellites.. Hello, Sony?

I am having exactly the same GPS problem on Xperia Z3 Compact I own. I cannot get GPS fix in any application I've tried. Of course I am trying it on an open area/outside any building. Before GPS stopped working on Xperia Z3, I was getting GPS fix very fast - during 5-10-15 seconds. I have tried all the suggestions mentioned here and elsewhere - but no luck. Sadly it was not simple to find this thread. I believe there are many users experiencing the same problem. Sony, please clarify the situation. Is it possible to get a software fix?

The first time i emailed Xperia care (or doesn't care) one of their tech guys replied and emailed me back this procedure where you connect it to your pc and follow tge fix procedure. It's pretty much like a reset where you lose all your data on the phone. Did this 3 times with no luck. I emailed them back again to report back that it didn't work and to tell them how important the GPS is for me and that it's one of the features I consider when choosing a mobile phone, but had no reply. After a few days I sent a follow up email and i got an auto reply that my email address is now blacklisted. 😮
