Google Now Launcher

The Google Now Launcher now works with none Nexus devices and is working fine with the Z2.

You can get it from Google Play, no need to side load it from unknown sources.

Good spotting, seems to work well on the Xperia Z1 too.

I'm running it now, looks great....But... although i get notifications at the top of the screen, I don't get the number appear on say. text, email etc telling me how many I have.

However, when I switch back to the Sony home, it'll show the amount of emails and texts etc.

Any ideas?

Anyone else noticed the above issue?

You may need to use a 3rd party app that shows notification numbers etc.....i use Holo Launcher HD but have to also use Holo Notifier alongside it Slightly_smiling_Face

Sounds promising, where can I download that?

Yeah, Google Now Launcher is pretty basic in terms of features and customization. It doesn't support numbered notifications on the icons for instance. But if you like swiping left for Google Now and the look of stock Android then it can be for you.

As previously pointed out, other launchers will do what you want. I used Nova Launcher along with the Tesla Unread add on for icon notifications - from Google Play.

Hi, got both of them from the Play Store......also got different Icons as well....that is what i like about Android, you can alter so much but at the end of the day you can still resort back to your original launcher etc :smileysmileywink:

I've just discovered that there is a way to get notification badges on the google now launcher, but you got to root the device and download all manner of code... Guess they'll be an update soon though, until then I'll stick with the Sony standard.
