"recommend" doesn't mean it has to be working under that temperature. the build quality of any device has some criteria when built and manufactured so they should work and holding up fine on the worst situation. and I'm sure that recommend statement is due to the sensor protection only.
@Cartagenaphoto
it doesn't have to be that way.. the customer service is nice here, if Sony officially confirm the issue they will replace any faulty unit happily.
Few pics showing where my screen failed because of the bezel being set back...
Exctly same thing for me at the exact same place. Have you been able to get a warranty repair?
hi have just had my z2 screen crack on me and min was in the car
i dont no what to do now
yes my front screen has cracked the same way i got mine from 3 but i have had 3 z1 phones from them that all bent
do not send it back to sony as it will cost alot
this is what i have dun right to who you got the phone from
when you got it and in my poinion the phone is not of satisfactory quality under the provisions of the sale of goods act 1979 furthermor i am also of the poinion that the phone was not of merchandisable quality when sold to me because of the propensity for the screen to crack under normal use
i am willing to accept a further replacement
if not i now require you to take back the phone and provide me with a full refund of the original purchase price plus all costs incurred and the cancellation of the finance agreement which you arranged on my behalf
if within 14 daya of receipt of this letter you have failed to comply with my wishes i will proceed to the small claims court to resolve this matter

Hi,
Bought my Xperia Z2 one week ago and this morning I discoverd a clean crack on the back of the phone. From the left to th right side.
I didn't let the phone drop or anything, I know this for sure. I was very cautious with this phone as I knew it had a glass front and back. (Just stepped over from the Galaxy S series... thought that would be a smart move...)
It seems more people have this problem, can we do something about it? Is sony responding in this forum?
My crack almost looks exactly as the crack on the photo Mick-Y uploaded

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear that. If the screen is broken you should contact nearest service center so a technician can examine and fix your unit. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

Yes the Xperia Z2 does have a cracking glass problem.
I've had iphones for the past few years (3, 3s, 4, 4s & 5) and I've never had a single one break, that said I was due to upgrade my phone and so I had a look, I fancied something different, I researched all the available phones on the market and the Z2 struck me as offering the best of the lot, was particularly taken by the 128GB microSDXC and the ample onboard RAM, **bleep** all the spec's are first rate, on paper its a fantastic piece of kit.
My first day: was spent trying to get my head around how to get all my contacts over easily, turned out to be very simple, emailed myself all my contacts from my Macbookpro and imported them to the Z2 in seconds. Then I began to customise the themes and such, which was all good fun. Went about changing all my passwords on all my emails & social networks, signed up for all sorts of services and trials. Even used it whilst in the bath (not submerged, just with wet hands), I was very impressed and sure that I'd made the right purchase.
My second day: I'd gotten to grips with the phone, installed plenty of apps, bought a few albums (that I already own in various formats!), was delighted to discover that the Z2's airplay functionality works better with my McIntosh McAire than my iPhone did!
Was a little underwhelmed by the seemingly limited volume from the supplied Noise Cancelling headphones, was thinking about buying the dock, a nice case (with the 20% off) and forking out for a 128gb card, then I went to bed.
My third day: Woke up, unplugged the phone from the charger, which was sat on my bedside table. Tried to tap the screen to turn it on, nothing, odd I thought, pressed the power button, it woke up but was glitchy, couldn't get it to unlock with a swipe though, then it started glitching, opening and closing random things, then I noticed a single diagonal crack running right acorss the screen.
Now I know that this phone has never been anywhere near the floor, dropped, sat on or manhandled in any way. It is however now completly unusable.
Thankfully I spoke to O2 (I'm a platinum customer) and they have agreed to dispatch a replacement unit on Tuesday (its a bank holiday here tomorrow) meaning that it will be arriving on Wednesday.
Having also spoken to a Dutch friend of mine who said that Sony's name is tarnished by this, a widely known fault.
Now I'm beginning to seriously doubt my Xperia Z2 selection, If this is a KNOWN ISSUE then perhaps the phone should come supplied with a protective case or they should be withdrawn.
My contract is 24 months, this phone has lasted less than 2 days, why the **bleep** should I have to pay for extra insurance to cover the fact that this phone may spontaniously crack rendering it unusable?
I really like the phone, I've had a lot of Sony products, CMD-Z5, CMD-Z7, TV's, Viao's, etc etc etc
I'd like some assurances from Sony that this is not a fault that I'll have to cover the future costs of, I also live NO WHERE NEAR a Sony shop/service center!!
Thank you.
