I'm not confusing anything there are many consumer laws, you appear to be picking one point ignoring all others - Speak to trading standards and they will tell you the same thing

Here's just a few

Sale of goods act

distance selling and right to return

You could try and argue one point but in the end your contract ie: sale contract is with Vodafone

And I am not a Sony employee - I do own an IT company but have no affiliation with Sony - I do not get paid nor do I profit from anything that my company does regarding any mobile manufactures

Thank you for response. Can you please recommend who to contact to get an official response from Sony, in particular stating that it has nothing to do with them and is the responsibility of Vodafone.

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/ or contact your local trading standards both will say the same thing

That may be, but while I value your input, your response is your own, not an official edict of Sony, and therefore has no legal weight.

I will also point out that the post I refered to earlier - The writer of that is a Sony employee

I must apologise the DSR's or Distance selling regulations are now no longer in place this was replaced in June by the CCR's or  Consumer contracts regulations
