Boot the phone in safe mode by pressing the power key for a few seconds > hold your finger on the Power Off message until the 'Reboot to safe mode?' message appears > tap OK.
If the issue is present in safe mode then run a software repair like @Phy has suggested. Here are additional steps:
(To back the phone up first press Start under Support Zone and follow the on-screen instructions).
Running the repair:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps
If the issue is not present in safe mode then I advise un-installing any apps you don't use/need any longer and also clearing the cache and/or data for third party apps you have installed into the device. Keep us updated.
