The aluminum frame is bend on the back side where magnetic charging and power button are. If I press it a bit, the gap between the frame and plastic back side disappears. Is this little gap enough so the phone would sieze to be waterproof?
It's weird. The gap is between midframe and back frame. Midframe is aluminum and back frame is plastic. There would have been the strong waterproof adhesive between them. So have no idea why happen this. Maybe the heat of the battery melt the adhesive? Waiting for the answer.
My phone had the gap from beginning, so it's not the heat from the battery. The plastic frame has poor quality and also the adhesive I suppose. But I wonder how did it pass quality check, were they sleeping?
Yes, i can close the gap.
The phone support answer is to check the problem via Sony repair center, but the closer to my home is about 250KM. I'll send to assistance when there are a revised version of back frame. It's useless send it now if the production line problem isn't fixed.
Same problem...i saw this gap today. Any infos from the service or something? They send the replacment or i must give them my Z1 Compact for ONE MONTH and the gonna do this?
Mine is being repaired right now. Will post more when I get it back.
Mine is in assistance for more than 20 days...
Edit: Just called and they told me to contact the vendor for a replacement.
I have the exact same problem on my 3 day old phone. I haven't even used the phone yet. Just some LTE speed test and a few updates. I'm gonna see if I can get this reparied. Ridiculous!
Hi guys, I am in Italy, I bought the z1C on june, after one month i saw the same small gap. I have called to the assistance and they told me they could change the back cover, but my question is: will they put a better plastic back? will they use a better adhesive?
Some people say that this gap does not affect the waterproofness, what do you think?
