XL 301 No Dislplay via HDMI on Pioneer Plasma

i wondered if anyone can help??

i can connect the PC to my panasonic plasma via hdmi and it shows both picture and sound fine. no issues at all.

i can connect the PC to my samsung lcd via hdmi and it shows the picture fine. the sound is carried via audio jack. again no issues.

i have now upgraded to a pioneer plasma. when i connect the PC up to the amp OR direct to the TV, via hdmi, i do not get any picture or sound. in fact, the plasma just constantly flickers where it appears to be trying to display the PC image. i don't even get the VAIO symbol when the PC is first powered up.

i can give the specific models if helps anyone.

Welcome to the club, Fn+F5 setup (and toggle between monitors) will bring up the vaio control centre you can change the way monitor is detected and right click in the task bar on the powr option to automatically redetect the external display as HDMI

just to clarify, i am not trying to use 2 monitors at once. i am simpley trying to relocate the vaio from the office to the front room and use the pioneer plasma as the display.

does your advice still stand? when do i try using F5, at boot up or after (baring in mind i have no display what so ever, just a flickering black screen)?
