Like many others I have been beta testing Windows 7. Everything is quite good, Winupdate installed driver for NVIDIA graphics, only memorycard adapter doesn't work, but it's not a problem.
The problem is Intel Virtualization Technology. You know, it's required by Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC. Usually you can easily enable it in BIOS, but not in Vaio. Vaio is officially do not support this technolodgy http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=C381809 But at the same time Core2Duo processors supports it. So we only need to enable it in BIOS and it will work. Anybody knows how to solve this problem?
Windows Virtual PC Beta, a feature of Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, and Windows 7 Enterprise, provides you the capability to run multiple Windows environments such as Windows XP Mode from your Windows 7 desktop. Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 makes it easy to install and run your Windows XP applications directly from your Windows 7-based PC. It utilizes virtualization technology, such as Windows Virtual PC, to provide a virtual Windows XP environment for Windows 7.
So, without it, our Vaios do not support Windows 7. I really hope, Sony will make BIOS update available as soon as possible.
I agree it's a huge problem. I urgently need to run Virtual Windows XP mode on Windows 7 RC but I cannot because Sony do not allow it in their Bios even though the processor supports it.
When will Sony release a Bios update?

I have the same problem, but I managed to find a solution. You can find everything here: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/virtualization-software-development/topic/63409/page/1/ and here: http://levicki.net/articles/tips/2009/02/20/HOWTO_Enable_Intel_VT_on_Sony_VAIO_notebook_with_AMI_Apt...
If you look at this response from Nico - the Sony Europe Online Marketing Manager - you will see that BIOS updates are being prepared to enable VT on Vaios.
However, these may not be available until Windows 7 official launch.

Yes, these things take time to be ready, even Microsoft hasn't fully completed Windows 7, give it a chance.
i recently install windows 7 in my fz29vn and works fine. All drives include card reader works fine, very fast and with very low decrease of cpu and ram, but the special buttons like the key FN and S1, AV MODE and the keys for volume doesn´t work.

Hi freakmind,
You could try reinstalling the Vaio Shared Library and the Vaio Event Service from the original Utilities for your model.
