Will the viao software work on win 7?

What Vaio software are you referring to?

Drivers and Utilities will run OK but you will lose all the other preinstalled software if you change your Operating System to your own copy of Win7.

There are a few "gotchas" out there, firstly the BIOS update. Then you need to go to the Sony website and download all of the software listed for your model. That is drivers and other packages. Reboot as directed. The only annoying thing I found is that my machine hangs at the VAIO screen if I tell it to restart. So i just shut down then press the start button again, no real hassle but a bit odd. But overall no real issues seems a bit snappier than XP. I have a VGX XL201.

So as not to confuse vaio owners - the software is not the pre-installed applications as these are not available for download, only drivers and utilities can be downloaded..
