I have recently purchased the VAIO VGN-P11ZG and it came with Vista. I required it downgrade the Vista to XP - so therefore completely removed the OS and re-installed XP. Installed all Service Packs (1&2) Microsoft and installed all of the drivers for VAIO XP - as downloaded from their website.
I have found that all works fine, except for Hibernation - when the screen (lid) is lowered to the shut position - Windows XP attempts to go into Hibernation - however - it just reports Windows attempting to go into standby, and remains in this state for ever.
Having contacted support they suggested that I increase the Virtual memory - which I did and it made no difference. The Hibernation issue - still remains.
The system has been partitioned into 2 drives - drive c - operating system, drive d - user data.
Anyone able to help me - that would be great...
