Vaio VGF-AP1L 40gb Music Player Problem can anyone help?

Hi
After years of trouble free use, My player had probs converting some songs i was copying on to it via (VAIO Music Transfer).. So i tried to delete the unfinished album using SonicStage, but it all just crashed, so after a few more attempts i Formatted the Vaio's Hard Drive Memory, Uninstalled Vaio Music Transfer & sonic stage from my PC, Then Re-installed them from disc back onto the computer, i have also tried resetting The Vaio VGF-AP1L..
So now i have a player with nothing on it.... 😞

Now when i try to put music back on it via Vaio Music Transfer , the transfer box pops up saying it's ready to transfer, BUT When i drag & drop an album the Vaio Music Transfer speeds through the lot in about 2 seconds and says (finished Transferring) which it obviously hasn't as it takes some time usually... At the same time another large box appears on screen saying,,
An error occurred while conversion.unknown error occurred (For every song i tried to copy..)

So though my Cherished Vaio VGF-AP1L Still has fair battery life i can not seem to use it at all.. it has no music & i cant find how to put more on it again..

Can anyone help me with this?? Any Ideas...

Replying to my own post... (Can't edit a post after 3 days)
Well i called VAIO support who's service was EXCELLENT (i paid for a short call & within the hour a specialist for this item called back for a lenthy call & sent me an email link to complete all updates.. & then arranged to phone me a few days later.. (Today)
And after Following instructions, doing Resets, Formatting the Hard Drive, Removing software from pc & re-installing it, and downloading & applying all updates, and performing a check of the hard drive via the PC.
He Assured me kindly that My Vaio's Hard Drive was faulty... :slight_frown:
(And it would cost around £219.00 to replace it with a 6 month guarantee :anguished:
(I Only paid £180 for it new as shops were getting rid of them for newer models)
I May see if theres a cheap one on ebay . ( could keep my cradle, & Lithium Battery & Remote as spares..)
But will probably just buy a new mp3 player for a lot less with 12 months guarantee...

Pity..
I Loved My VAIO Pocket VGF-AP1L..
