Hi, i have a Vaio bought i think 2007 but still functioning well after a tune up. Looking to utilise for my child while schooling form home during covid-19 shutdown. It has an I3 processor and 4GB Ram. Is it possible to upgrade to RAM on this model and if so, is it possible to still get memory that can be used ?
Hi Warren,
Welcome to the community.
I'll look into this for you and see if I can find out. Someone else in the community may be able to advise in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
If your VAIO Desktop All-In-One VPC-J21M1E (or J21 somethings ...), the maximum size of RAM is 8 GB:

Hi, thanks for the reply. Is this the correct type ?
8gb: https://www.amazon.co.uk/DUOMEIQI-PC3-10600-Sodimm-Non-ECC-Notebook/dp/B07SVCG12M
If so, wondering if i can just add 4gb to the existing 4gb or do i need to replace the existing card ? looks like there maybe a seperate slot for a new card but i have not done before so if anyone can confirm that would be great.
Hi WarrenBarlow,
I'd say contact a Sony engineer to get the accurate information. I used a filter on the website to include only PCs and these are the results: https://locator.sony/en_GB/servicecenters/categories=personal-computershttps://locator.sony/en_GB/se...

Did you find out whether or not you could? I have a similar problem
There is a max of 4GB per slot.
