Sound Recording Issue
Hi,
I have a Vaio VPEC2S0E and want to record my internal sound. I've looked online on how to solve the issue of not being able to and websites say you need to enable "stero mix". I've done all the steps, even clicked on show disabled/disconnected devices and "stereo mix" is still not coming up. How do I fix this?

Hi Raheem,
‘Stereo Mix’ or ‘record what you hear’ is a feature of the sound card that has been disabled by default on most machines since the introduction of Vista OS due to DRM.

Thanks, Rich!
So, is there no way I can record sound internally?

Hi Raheem,
The only workaround that I know of is to link sound out to sound in with a standard 3.5mm jacked cable. The recorded sound quality will be poor and you also have the added problem of monitoring what you are recording.
Alternatively buy an old Windows XP machine that will support this function. I still use one of my old notebooks running XP and mp3mymp3 software for this very purpose.
