Hello anyone.

Before I start the process of getting treated like a tennis ball by the Manufacturer and store in getting another computer that does not work repaired what do you do?

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z notebook. It is one of 3notebooks from different manufacturers purchased last year 2008.

All using windows system software.

Notebook 1 The first notebook was faulty out of the box. It went in for repair 3 times. The store and the manufactuer bounced me around like a tennis ball before one of them decided to take responsibilty for refunding the cost of the notebook.
I feed them money and more money. I have to do other things. I buy this technology to use not for it to be taking up all my time to make work or the Stores that sell them to do their job or the manufactuer to sell me working products.

The refund took over a year with expense and time on my part to get them to refund what they said they would do.

In the process of buying the note book there is software,hardware and other related purchases that go with a notebook.

I purchase 2 other notebooks from different manufactuers ans again with software and hardware.

Notebook 2 is faulty. Blue screens and software that does not work with Windows Vista and other related software that is said to check reporting nothing is wrong. It goes back for repair but the store that sold it to me go and lose the notebook.

Notebook 3 Sony Vaio VGN FZ21Z It works out of the box except for Vista which keeps throwing up strange errors that it cannot track down. All software that is installed works but for the faults and bugs in the software. They work.


I have 5 Macintosh computers. The first one a desktop but faulty hardware as well as the mac system operating it.
With the desktop I have to purchase backup systems. Optical drives recomended. The first one is faulty. The same manufactuer sells me another one which also fails.
Scanner feeder fails.
£ 600 pound printer Fails
and the list goes on.

A Mac g4 17inch laptop at £ 3000 pounds with extras another £3000 pounds fails. Sent to Apple for repair and sent back worse then before. Cost of extra times to go with the laptop runs into thousands of pounds. It has been back for repair to an independant company. It still does not work normally.

Apple sites have people reporting the problems they are having. The laptops are still being sold and Help sites people are given vague answer to their desperate search for help.

A new Mac Laptop G4 17inch is purchased. Now it uses Intel chips. So cannot use software on previous Macintosh computers. MAX OS updates side line hardware and software that can no longer be used.

The new MAC Laptop G4 17inch works only because it has not been used much and is already over 2 years old.

More money to buy new items to make all the items work. With out the computer all items connected to it are useless.

Other macintosh computers I buy 2nd hand supposedly in good working order. Save the software that cost thousands of pounds from being thrown into the bin. Shop that sells the computers get them back because they do not work.

Brand new back up drives at enourmous expense to back up computers that you cannot trust to operate on a daily basis.

I have had 9 that failed. One out of the box new. All the others with data on them.
The faults in 4 of them it turns out the manufacturers knew about but the stores were still happy to sell them.

All of the items from computers,related hardware,and software were little used or brand new and failed. Did not work. Did not do what it said it would do.
Support for help is given with little or no care or consideration to the fact it is my living. What do I do if the product does not work? I place my trust and life in this technology to work in the stores that sell me these things in the manufacturers of hardware and software that they rain down praise over.

Cameras printers scanners and endless items are bought to work with computers. Design faults, software faultss, stores that sell these products knowing they are faulty with the custom of treating the customer as just endless pockets of money.

I have lost data and years of work and time and life.
I spend more time looking for problems even before I purchase the items then on the work I need to do as the manufacturers and stores or porfessionals in the field of tracking down problems before they happen seem completely unware as previous experince has shown.

So now I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z
It worked out of the box. Software installed works minus the bugs in the software. Vista throws up endless problems with an overblown system that is not helping in anyway and does not find the problems that do come up.
Due to previous experience with other computers I back everything up. Do not trust computer. I look for signs of failure. I have invested my life with using these machines.

Sony Vaio seems to be getting hotter on a daily basis. Do I rush to the store and just get told, 'No that is normal or We have never heard of any problems with this model or Your pay extra for any problems so if it breaks down just bring it in and we will take care of it for you.

I ask Apple company and manufactuers of windows based computers and stores that sell all the items related to these products, What do I do while they are getting fixed and sent back and forth with me waiting around for items to be picked up or returned or myself running around getting software to work normally and companys to please fix the machine quickly.
What is point of guarantee? They are not repaired correctly or fail again or the guarantee runs out just before it fails. Manufacturers do not send warnings their is a fault we did not tell you about. Stores do not send out letters letting you know you are risking your work on faulty hardware.

So Now I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z costing over 850 pounds with extras another 800 pounds. Data that is using windows opertating system. Back up systems will sit ideal while another computer is sorted out to carry on working. Down time, back and forth again to stores to get treated as a money machine and brushed off with storys.

So what do I do? Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z gets hot and the graphic card does not work. The screen freezes with lines down it. I have to switch it off as it cannot be shutdown. I worry is it going to damage the back up hardrive still plugged into the computer.

I am down to this one computer until I can get the other computers up and running again!

Do I go to the store? The guarantee has run out but I pay a monthly fee for such problems. Yet I will be told it will take this much time and out come extra costs which I am told is all covered by the monthly fee.

I have to spend so much time dealing with people who work for these Manufacturers ans stores that brush you off with endless excuses and requests for more money and place wait.
Repairs that end up not working and equipment you cannot trust.

So another notebook that does not work. I am again stranded. I have so much to do. What do I do?

This computer, SONY VAIO VGN-FZ21Z does not work. Hardly used. Less then a year turns into a hot stove requiring a cooling fan and now the graphics card is not working and the computer makes a loud rattling blipping sound if any application trys to use the graphics card and then CRASH.
Thousands and thousands of pounds of computers and related items and my life resting on Manufacturers and stores that at the end of the day do not care.

I know before I buy a product it is going to be faulty such is my experince with this technology. The after carethat I am treated too when I pay so much money and lose so much time and work and be treated like my life does not matter on second as long as I wait in line like a good customer and pay more money and accept less then a repair when they to repair the item at their time and pace and convenience.

Should I just throw the Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z in the rubbish bin and say goodbye to another year of lost time?
