Sony Vaio FW41 and "Could not create recovery discs"

I would like to help all who encountered this message when trying to create recovery discs on their Sony Vaio.

I was getting this message every time when I tried to create recovery discs using Vaio Recovery Center and Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB media. There was no error message or error code, just this simple information from the name of this topic. I was despered so I also did full system recovery but that did not help either. Today I finaly succeeded to create all three recovery discs using TDK DVD-R 4.7GB media. At the moment of creation I was running Windows Vista SP2. Before, I assumed that Vista SP2 is to blame, but that was not the case.

I hope this will help to all who have similar problems.

Thank you for posting your experiences. The Vaio drives can be particularly sensitive to the make of discs.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and contributing to the forum with your first post..

I normally use TDK DVD+R when creating recovery disc sets to be honest, however Verbatim & Sony have worked for others in the past as well..
