Smart Network switches my WLAN profile without any input from me

I have one profile for the WLAN (called home) and it randomly switches to a blank profile. I dont understand why it does this or how to stop it. But it is very annoying as I can be on the internet and it just stops working and I have to goto into the smart network and switch the profile over.

Why does it do this and how do i get it to stop.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to Club Vaio.

What model do you have?

This may help us find a solution as there may be a known problem or an update available.

Hi Andy - it is the model number on the screen surround that we want.

For example there is a Vaio Smart Network update for the VGN-Z11 vaios here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/updates/updates.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&c=0&s=VGN-Z&m=3389

The other thing to check is what wireless card you have. have a look in Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> WiFi Adapter and see what make is installed. It is probably Intel and there will be an updated driver on the Intel site here: -

Intel WiFi Driver Ver 12.4.0.21

EDIT: I am presuming you are still using the original OS - Vista Business?

Hi Andy

Unfortunately there isn't an update for the Vaio Smart Network for your model.

It may be worth reinstalling the original Vaio Smart Network from here in case yours has been corrupted: -

Cheers
