Hi
I would like to remove the RAID configuration (currently RAID 0) on my Sony AR51SU.
In order to be able to go back to my old setup I want to buy 2 brand new discs (500GB/7200),
set my RAID configuration in my BIOS to no RAID and reinstall everything.
Because I need my PC for work and I can't predict how long the reinstallation will take, I need the possibility to quickly swap the discs and change my BIOS back to RAID 0 and everything is working again.
Has anybody expericence with that? Is it as easy as I have described it or do I need to do anything else?
I read somewhere that with CRTL-I in can get into RAID configuration to setup RAID partitions. Is this something I need to do if I want to swap the discs back?
Thanks
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
welcome to Club VAIO..
Does the following link help: How can I change the RAID configuration of my RAID enabled VAIO?
Thanks Thalamus
Not sure if I need to go into the RAID configuration menu again when I put the old discs back into the laptop.
Just worried that they will be overwritten if the configuration is set to Non-Raid after the restart.
