Hi, i have seen many posts through this forum talking about overheating of the cpu etc. But my problem is that whenever i put my laptop on, i can never hear anything from the fan. And then half an hour later it gets abit warm underneath and to the left and right of the touch pad. Maybe anofa 2 hrs l8r it gets boilin hot and can feel the heat thru the keyboard etc. Its only half a year old and im gettin concerned. Is it normal to heat up. BTW, there is no fault in the performance and it hasnt shud down or owt yet.
MODEL
VGN FS315M
thanks alot
Adam
btw ive tried one of them downloads to determine the temperature of the cpu and hdd
CPU: 48 c
HDD: 37 c
yet dispite the temperature, the bottom is still hot and makes the desk in which it is sat on quite hot. Is it jus that it is an electrical device workin of electricity or somot or is it jus the circuits inside?
Hi Adam,
If you download and run mobilemeter, this will enable you to check the temperatures of your Vaio..:smileyhappy:
Edit: The temperatures of your vaio seem ok and they are very similar to mine...:smileyhappy:
i have already downloaded the software referring to anova post, and the figures are as follows:
FREQ: 800MHZ
TEMP 48.0c
DISCHARGE 0.00w
HDD 36.0
I AM ON BATTERIES BTW
as soon as i plugged the ac adapter in, they changed to these:
FREQ: 1.73 ghz
temp 56c
charge rate: 0.00w
hdd: 36c
the temp of the cpu changed within 2 secs btw
btw the temp of the cpu with the battery in is about 65c now
That is a touch high.
Have you used compressed air on the vents?
Hi Adam,
Also in the Power Options Properties (via Control Panel) click on the Vaio Power Management tab, then change your CPU control to Adaptive in the Plugged in column..:smileyhappy:
Hi,
I seems to have the same problem. Altough I do hear the fan, the keyboard and the left part of the mouse path becomes rather hot.
I have a Vaio A417M. Anyone any idea how this can be solved? It is rather anoying
