I'm not sure if this is a fault or a 'feature' of Vista, sometimes, but not always, when I hover over an icon or link it automatically opens without clicking, this is causing programs and files to open when I want to right click on them and links to open while trying to navigate around the net. Is this a problem with the click button or something that can be turned off in Vista.

Are you using a mouse or using the trackpad?
If you're using the trackpad you might just have tapped it twice by mistake. If this is the problem you could go to the control panel -> mouse -> tapping and try to customize the tapping speed.
If you're using an external mouse try another one.
