I've got a huge problem with my Sony VAIO VGN-FZ11M. It is extremely hot in the top left corner. I've bought cooling pad but it doesn't help. Recently due to high temp my notebook looses colours, gets freezed and restarts. During vista loading there are blue stripes. help me 😞
If it's within warranty bring it back!
unfortunately my warranty finished about a year ago 😞 I will never buy a device from Sony again!
Hi luque23
Overheating may be caused by a build up of dust in the cooling vents. Try blowing out both the inlet and outlet vents with compressed air.
You can purchase a can (often known as an “Air Duster ”) from most PC retailers.
My VAIO doesn't want to start in normal mode at all. I am afraid my graphic card crashed (very strange cos I do not play games on my vaio). This air duster won't help.
Is it possible to repair/change this invalid graphic card ? How much will it cost?
Hello luque23
From your description and the photo I think your graphics chipset is dead.
There's no way to change the graphics chip without changing the entire motherboard.
I don't think is worth to repair this notebook because the price you have to pay for the repair is enough to buy a new one.
As Rich912 said, the overheating is usually caused by a build up of dust in the cooling vents and you don't need to play games to burn the chipset.
Thanks for your reply.
I turned off graphic card in Device manager. Now I can use Normal Mode. Is it safe ?

Can you tell me how does it work now? I mean graphics.
Where I can buy/change my actual motherboard+graphic card and how much it will cost?
Is it possible to connect some kind of external graphic card ? Is 8400M GT shared gc ?!
