Ok, I've had my vaio for well over a year now and had no issues with it whatsoever. I upgraded to windows 7 rc, yes I understood there may be some driver issues, but it has been a much more pleasent experience than vista ever was. However one thing I have noticed is that my fan doesn't seem to come on as much, normally not a complaint, but the unit has been heating up much more than usual and the fan never seems to kick into high gear. I downloaded speedfan to check if I could help the problem, but I don't think the motherboard allows this sort of tinkering as the fan doesn't show, but what it did show was the gpu being at 72C and both cores in the 50s, which can't be good. It might be conincidental with me installing w7 rc just a few months ago, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/fixes for this?
Cheers
Hi A_Mc and welcome.
I would not be too concerned - the temperatures you quote are not outside the normal range and are lower than many.
Some of the Sony Utilities do not work 100% with Windows 7 but have you tried reinstalling the Sony Power Management 2.3 Utility which you can find in your Original Utilities Download?
You can find it HERE
