Function keys in Windows 7

I have a VGN AR71M with Vista, but have now installed Windows 7 RC. It runs excellent and I have ordered Home Premium and intend to run it in the future.
The only problems are the functionkeys (Fn), S1 & S2 and the arrowkey (CD/DVD-opener); they don't function.
I have downloaded and run every possible one from Vaio Support:

Everything but the mentioned keys is OK.
Any idea?

Hi wilburt99 and welcome.

The utilities that control the key functions that you mention are contained in the Original Utilities Package but they do need installing in order. Ideally you should install all the utilities in this package in the order that they appear but if you have already done so then reinstall:

1 Sony Shared Library

2 Vaio Event Service

Then rebbot

But it did not work. I will start all over again. Reinstall W7 and install the Vaiofiles from

It was certainly the case with XP that it was sometimes necessary to install the utilities up to 3 times before they worked - not sure whether this is the case with Vista/ W7

The easy way: Install the original operating system and then upgrade with Windows 7...

or you try installing the utilities in compatibility mode with Windows Vista Sp2...
