Can someone PLEASE help. My FE11H has had its hard drive replaced due to noise problems but i still get a regular clicking noise that sounds like a cut-out to me. It seems to do it at any time whether its idle or not. Can it be a heat cut-out due to the fan? Just need to know if its normal as this is my first lap top and i,v not experianced this problem with desk tops.
It seems to make a "fizzing" sort of noise first then goes pop.
Yes, i have read all the posts on this noise but i was wondering if the noise i have is a cut-out of some type and is normal. As i said before, i had the hard drive replaced already and the noise is still there. Has anyone else experianced this cut-out noise and is it normal??
May sound silly, but is the sound coming from your speakers?
Try turning them off and seeing if the sound disappears?
It is not the speaker, I have the same problem as well as the paint on the volume buttons coming off and pro memory stick reader not working.
It has been nearly 3 month of talking to the sony centre and sony support to get mine fixed and at the moment they will repair the buttons only because the engineers dont know how to fix the hard drive and are still looking in to it. They did say others are also waiting to get the same hard drive problem fixed as well.
Some people on that main thread have had theirs fixed, so they must be a lack of communcation between US and UK engineers or something.

They certainly sound like a big problem. I,v already had the hard drive replaced. but this sound is different. When you switch off the laptop, you get that cut-out sound when it shuts down. but i get the same cut-out noise when its working, keeps fizzing then clicking. does it every 2 mins or so. Driving me crazy, if its normal then fine i can put up with it but if its faulty i need to sort it before warrantee expires.
