detache battery for longer lifetime?

Hi volks

When i use my laptop for serveral hours at home or at work i remove the battery pack bevor switching on, to save lifetime.

What do the pro's think about that? Does it make some difference?

Is there some kind of wearout on the battery pack whil running on electricity supply?

Kr,
Morph

For anyone interessted...

It is possible to set the battery recharge to a smaller value than 100%. So you can save your batterys lifetime.

Open the Sony VAIO Control Center

Registerchart, Energy Savingfeature

Battery charging-function

There you have two modes: One sets the charging value to 80%, the other (better) one to 50%

Anyone knows where i could change the value 50% to 40% ?

Mayby within the registry somewhere?

Unfortunately not all Vaio models have this feature.. :slight_frown:

Hi Morph,

No I don't, you may find an entry in the registry but IMO I wouldn't mess about for an extra 10% saving..
