Can't find Unibrain 1394 PC driver

Dear Sirs,

Please help me find Unibrain 1394 PC driver for my Sony Vaio VGN-FS215Z laptop as I accidently uninstalled it and now unable to find it anywhere. I have downloaded all original drivers for my laptop, updated all of them but unable to sort Unibrain 1394 out. After each startup of the system, I'm getting table with the add new hardware... In device manager it shows that with the yellow question mark.
Can you please drop me a link where I can download this driver from.

Many Thanks,
Andrejus

Hi Andrejus,

I don't think it is a Sony i-link driver. What is the device named in Device Manager? Do you have a device like a camera or external storage device connected by firewire for which you have loaded drivers from a disc?

You could try the Unibrain website which appears to have drivers available for download for their products: -

http://www.unibrain.com/

Hi again,

the device is named Unibrain 1394 PC and I haven't got any cameras connected to PC. Actually I have never used this fire wire port, hust happened that I tried DriverMagician and it has deleted the driver... No this 'Add New Hardware' table appears every time I start the laptop. Is there any chance to disable this port, because I never use it.

Cheers

Hi Andrejus,

On the assumption that it is the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Bus host controller that has been incorrectly identified, try updating the driver via Device Manager.

Click on 'Update Driver' and Choose 'No, not this time' Next
'Install from List or Specific Location (Advanced)' Next
'Don't Search, I will choose a driver to install' Next
Click 'Have Disc' and browse to C:\Windows\inf\1394.inf and click Open

This will hopefully install the correct drivers.

I've tried the steps above and at the end I've got the message:

the specified location does not contain information about your hardware

any more sugestions how to solve the problem, or maybe I was doing smth wrong?

In that case I doubt that it is the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Bus host controller.

Have you looked in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs for anything that resembles any Unibrain software. If there is remove it.

Otherwise try uninstalling the device in Device Manage. However, if this is hardware then it will reappear on boot. If so try disabling the device.

If neither of the above works then right click the device (in Device Manager) > select Properties and click on the Details tab. On the Property drop down menu select ‘Hardware Ids’ and post the various values here. We may possibly then be able to identify the device.

EDIT: You could also try reinstalling you chipset drivers which you should find at C:\Drivers\chipset or on your recovery disks. They are also available to download from support – click the support tab at the top of this page.

Ihave tried to uninstall the hardware but after reboot it appears again, values shown in device manager are the following:
UB1394\Unibrain&1394_PC

i guess only new windows intall will solve the problem, what you think?

A Google has come up with this:

http://www.drivercure.com/driver/driver_vendor.php?id=93EFCDBE-42F0-4361-8DFB-7C92642499F0

Use this at your own risk!
