Hi

I have an all in one desktop (VGC JS2E/Q) and I have had it for just over one month but I am having problems and I wonder if anybody else is having the same issues?

1. When I press the on button the power light turns on but the PC does not load up and I have to manually dump the computer (press power button until it turns off) this may need to be done up to 4 times when turning it on.

2. At least once a week the PC crashes and a blue screen appears that says there has been a harddrive failure and the PC needs to dump its memory!! Although this doesn't happen all the time I can have to switch the PC on and off for a few times before it works again.

I was wondering if anybody else had experienced these problems? I would appreciate any help.

Hi Imelda and welcome to Club Vaio.

I presume you have downloaded all the Microsoft and Vaio Updates for your JS2E?

Specifically there is a BIOS Update T4a - R0283T4 that is designed to resolve "Intel Dynamic Power Management compatibility issue". This switches power from one part of the system to another to address demand and could be causing your problem.

Try this update first. If it is not the problem then I think you will have to contact Sony Support on Monday because your Vaio is not working properly: -
