Hello Everyone,
I hope there is somebody could help me with my problem.I bought VGN-TX5MN laptop with Vista on it.After slow and painful couple of days with vista, I decided to downgrade to Wndows XP Pro.I downloaded all necessary drivers and installed WinXP Pro. I can clearly see that it was really good decision and I have light speed working laptop now.Everything is working much faster and better with Windows XP.Only problem is after I downgraded Win XP Pro, DVD control keys stopped working.I checked device driver and there is no problem at all. When I watch movies I can use this keys for play or pause but unfortunately that's all:(( I cannot open DVD Driver from eject button.Everytime I have to use that tiny side button which is really painful. Is there anybody can help me sort out this problem? Thank you...
I try to write about this issue to Sony Support but their webpage doesn't work:(( I fill out so many lines and after 3th page it gets stuck.Tried so many times and wasted so much time:(( Really disappointed...
Hi Dr Dolphin and welcome.
Have you installed all the XP specific Drivers and XP specific Utilities for your model? These control the special keys etc. You probably need to install the AV Mode Utility but I think you also need to download from here and then extract the following and install them IN ORDER:
1. 1_SONYUTILS_DLL.ZIP
2. 2_SONY_SHARED_LIBRARY.ZIP
3. 12_VAIO_EVENT_SERVICE.ZIP
4. 8_SETTING_UTILITY_SERIES.ZIP
5. 3_AV_MODE_BUTTON_UTILITY.ZIP
If you need to contact Sony Support try phoning them as I believe e-support has been discontinued.
