I have lost all Freeview HD channels from the EPG and despite re-tuning many times they do not appear. The EPG shows channels up to 100, then jumps to 201 - see picture. EPGSoftware is up to date and no other issues seen with the TV
Occasionally on my XR42A90K I have noticed that the HD channels go AWOL.
A retune usually sorts that out.
Have you checked the the aerial cable is fitted firmly to the TV, sometimes even a little bit of movement over time can result in the loss of signal from one of the multiplexes. Also make sure the solid copper wire is protruding through the hole by a millimetre or so.
As you have retuned several times without success, have you restarted the TV before retuning or tried a power cycle before retuning.
If that doesn't help matters have you tried a manual channel search.
First thing to do is find out which transmitter you are receiving from.
Enter your details here,
https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/detailed-transmitter-information
Scroll down you will see which transmitters broadcast to your location.
The first one shown is the 'most likely' take a note of the multiplex number under the BBC B
section, this is the multiplex (mux) which carries the HD channels. The mux number is under the white N in a black circle.
Now you have the HD mux number you can try a manual search using that number to see if you get a signal.
Hi Davey,
Signal strength is very good, measured at the wall outlet and off the distribution amplifier. All other TVs in the house can receive everything. We have direct line of sight to the Hannington transmitter and have tested other TVs on the same wall outlet without issue.
Tried swapping cables and no difference. This was working fine for 18 months without issue.
Tried power cycling including cold start.
Up until last week a retune would restore the HD channels now it only finds SD ones, albeit all of them.
Have you tried the manual search on the HD mux as described before.
Have you tried the Self Diagnostics under Settings> Help and feedback> Help> Status & Diagnostics.
See if it picks up anything.
Might be something wrong withe DVB-T2 decoder which the HD channels use, all other SD broadcasts use DVB-T.
Is the TV still under warranty, if so and you have not got the HD channels back then contact whoever sold you
the TV to send someone out.
I have done a sweep from CH21 to 69 and it does not pick up any HD channels. Hannington uses CH39, 40, 42, 43, 45 & 46 for the Muxs. Its almost if HD is disabled on the TV
Which of those numbers is the HD mux?
When you do the manual search on that mux are both the Signal level and Signal quality meters empty?
Looks like its a hardware\software problem. Glad I bought the 5 year warranty from JL
Thanks for your help
All TVs sold by JL come with a free 5 year warranty, you can opt to buy 5 yeas accidental cover, is that what you mean.
