KDL-S40A12U- No sound when taken abroad
I took my Sony KDL-S40A12U television from the Uk to Serbia and there is no sound but I have picture. Sound works with DVD player and other external sources. A local told me signal is different and tv only designed to work in UK, not sure if this is correct.
Can I do anything to get sound and also is it possible to factory reset the tv r do something g else to obtain sound when watching tv?

HI @gordonm8
I have had a bit of a look into this, but unfortunately I am unable to help you on this. I would listen to the local advice on this.
From what I understand, Serbia has (and still is) conducting its digital switch-over. They are using the DVB-T2 standard in regards to broadcasting both SD and HD TV. In the UK, we use the DVB-T for SD transmissions, and DVB-T2 for HD transmissions at this moment.
The TV you currently have, is only suitable for DVB-T transmissions. Therefore you will need to purchase another TV or an additional digital box (im assuming they have them)
Hopefully this explains the reasons why it doesnt work.
Cheers
