KDL-37W5500 TV lag

I bought the Sony Bravia KDL-37W5500 about two years ago. However, now when I want to glide through the channels or generally anything there is a 5 to 6 second lag. Which is really annoying for example I want channel 85 press 8 . . . nothing but I know the TV received the command as the little green light flashes but still nothing so I press it again . . . nothing after a short wait 888 appears on the screen and I’m on channel 888 :smileyangry:. Also after I turn off the TV the sound still plays for about 10 seconds after the screen is black :smileyshocked:. this lag happens with TV guide the arrow buttons and the number buttons is there a solution to the problem? because it was never like this before. I expected more from Sony’s products not to behave like a 12 year old computer.
