Our KDL 32D3000 purchased in 2007 suddenly failed today with vertical coloured lines all accross the screen. Not good timing just before christmas. I see from the forum that many people have the same fault, that Sony in the US have acknowledged this as a manufacturing fault, and that Sony UK are 'investigating the problem'. I have been a loyal Sony purchaser for 30 years. This was an expensive TV, surely it is reasonable to expect more than 4 years life from it? Are Sony UK going to rectify the problem, or should I purchase a replacement from another manufacturer?

I too have today 17-7-12 have same problem with vertical lines like a bar code on screen, TV purchased 15-7-07, a phone call to approved engineers have suggested it could cost £500 to repair. Have gone out and purchased a KDL 32HX753 if it breakes down three weeks out of its 5 year warranty like the KDL-32D3000, I will be moving away from Sony after 25 years.
