HDMI recognise

My Bravia displays OK from my HDMI enabled PC but will not enable the audio port - so no sound !    When I try to list HDMI devices it says there are none yet the video is great.    How can I make the Bravia recognise the PC and therby enable the sound port.   I've done a total reset and gone all through the settings.

hdmi supports audio is your cable faulty ? most devices are just plug and play

When I connect my laptop, I have to configure the sound output on the laptop, not the TV. You need to connect it to the TV, play something and then, on the PC, open the Volume Control options and change it to the HDMI port. The sound should transfer from the PC to the TV. Don't forget to change it back afterwards.

yep - tried 3 leads so far

aye - tried that as well - what worries me is that in settings / set  up the PC doesn't register in the HDMI list - even though the video works
