Doubling Up Audio Out

Hi all - first post so treat me kind!

I have a monolithic KDL40-NX723B with the silver soundbar stand. The soundbar is obviously connected to the TV using HDMI and syncs perfectly.

I was thinking of giving the sound a bit more bite by maybe hooking up some Behringer MS20 Monitor Speakers via the optical out on the TV. Does anyone know if this will cause issues with the sound synchronisation between the soundbar and the monitors?

i also have the monolith speaker stand and also a full blown home cinema kit and if i forget to turn the sound right down on the tv with the inema kit on i get an echo where the sound is delayed, so back to your question, yes i believe you will end up with the same thing im afraid!.

to be fair the soundbar does a fair job for general viewing and is fairly punchy in its own right, but still no match for a home cinema kit.
