Connecting KDL-32V4000 to BDV-E370

I am trying to connect my Bravia KDL-32V4000 Televion to my Sony BDV-E370 Blu-Ray player and surround sound amp.

I can't seem to get the HDMI to produce sound through the surround sound system when watching normal TV.  Blurays and DVD's play fine both on the TV and through the sound system.

I can't find any info on how to get this to work - anyone got a solution?

Hi,

you wont get sound from the tv to your amp in this way or at all, at best your tv produces virtual dolby through its inbuilt speakers.

had your tv had an optical connection then it would have been possible however since there are not many programs available in dolby digital the best you could have hoped for is enhanced 2 channel stereo.
