Bravia internet access

I have a sony Bravia KDL32CX523BU  I have my router linked to my tv via an ethernet cable and when I access the internet browser on my smart TV I cannot seem to do anything past the SONY home page, this is most frustrating. Is this really normal or should I be able to access a wider range of internet services.

When on the Browser page click options on your remote & scroll down to URL entry..

Then you can type an alternative URL address..
