xperia x10 is locked after too many attempts to unlock ( unlock attempts while in pocket ! ) requesting user name and password but have not ever registered a user name or password vodaphone said ring sony sony said ring google google are impossible to contact by phone help !!

Download a program called Sony Ericsson Update Service and update your phone which will clear the lock.

You will need to select Phone Repair rather than update,  so that you do not have to mount the USB.

Many people have failed at fixing the problem when using Se Pc companion thats why I say Sony Ericsson Update Service as it removes everything.

have downloaded update service and still locked

Did you select X10 and connect the phone as it asks and let it update?

yer conected phone held down back button and completed download tryin repair through pc companion now

unlocked thank you sony said would repair but would be gone couple of weeks and cost 23 pound

Thats strange but the Pc Companion method should work.

that's a serious brow raiser!!! Why would they charge you for such a simple thing?!
