Hi,
I had a blackberry phone earlier and now shifted to xperia sola.
So, I want to move the contacts to this new phone. I took the backup of all the contacts from my blackberry phone and it got saved in ".ipd" format.
The problem now is, PC companion is not reading this format of the file and i'm stuck forever with no contacts and have to rely on my BB to make any call or to see the contacts list.
Please anyone out there, help me

once you get your contacts on your Gmail
on your Sola
settings -> accounts & sync -> add account -> google -> tap on it make sure contacts are syncing and background data and activate auto-sync are both on
on your phonebook -> tap MENU -> filter -> google -> uncheck the rest just leave google selected and voila, done

it's easier if you sync them from your BB to Google and then from google to your Sola
or
use my phone explorer

what to do with the software?
will it convert the ".ipd" file to vCard format?
my phone explorer will transfer the contacts from your phone to your PC then you can connect your sola and transfer them to your new phone
or
try this instead
