No google market app

hello people, I have an xperia x10 but it did not come the google play app. I also tried to download it but it does not launch even after the download. Any suggestions?

This may be based on the origin of the handset, some countries do not allow the Google Play Store app to be installed due to laws within that region.

What country was the handset purchased from?

did it came with the Market/Android Market app, its the same as the play store, you just have to open the market and it will update it to the Play Store.

but like Jake pointed out, some countries like the middle east don't have this store.

if that's your case, you could flash the global generic firmware to have the market

I have an Xperia Arc that worked fine on Android Market when it was around.  Now with Google Play I can't access anything.  Shows how often I buy new apps.  There is certainly no application to access it on my phone. This is now starting to drive me birko.

Thanks jake. The phone was originally made for the Chinese market. Is there anything you think I can do to it?
