Is there a way to get the quick camera button onto GB?

I'm currently happy with my Gingerbread but I really want that option to just slide the lcok screen to the left and it will launch the camera app. Right now, in it's place is the Sound option which will let me silence and unsilence the phone by swiping to the left. I hardly use this feature and would be happy to replace it with one for image capturing just like on ICS. Can anyone help me?

Can you comment on the performance hit that this will have? I have quite a handful of apps already, some of them, running in the background too! And putting this onto my list of options, is there a way to re-map the stock lock screen's button to do what I wanted? (By modifying the source perhaps?)

well I can't quite answer that question, I don't know how many apps you have running but I can tell you this, uninstall antivirus, taskillers and battery apps, they drain a lot of battery, yes even the battery apps, create issues with other apps and connectivity issues

if you have ICS you can disable unwanted apps

Umm I don't have the ICS update yet. And I'm having doubts about upgrading because I can see that they somehow "dumbed down" the camera app (from a video demo I saw) and now it's left with minimal settings as opposed to GB.

Anyway, no, I don't have antiviruses, task killers and battery apps. IMO, they're not really useful if I already know how to do things on my own.

Will WidgetLocker run on the background or will it only run whenever I lock the screen?
