Downgrading problem...from ICS to gingerbread

I think i did a big mistake...after updating to ICS and after a few days i realised tthis Operating sistem is "heavy" - battery drains faster, eats more ram, moves slowly...and so on.And i decided to go stock firmware. And...after a few sites readed how to flash your phone i downloaded to my pc Flashtool and after that i think i installed a ST18 firmware on my xperia active. I did a big mistake...now my phone doesn`t start and flashes black screen.

Neither sony pc companion or SUs doesn`t help now because my phone doesn`t start when i connect to usb and is not regognized....by the pc.

After that i downloaded the good soft and now the program flashtool can not install the good firmware...what should i do ? Please.

So what is the difference .42 and .62 -

I`m downloading now .62 ... i hope to work on my phone.

there seems to be no big difference between the two., as uliwooly said above.

.42 is the older version , one reason you may want to install this one is because it is rootable.
.62 on the other hand is the latest, but is impossible to root.

What can we do to our xperia active phones to obtain more signal on 3G network and more clearly voice calls ?

get a new SIM card and it's directly proportional to your network coverage

hmmm, I do not have problems with those on my active

1.) 3G signal really depends on the network, the more towers they have the better the coverage,

2.) try not covering the upper back of the phone when having a call, so the antenna may have a better reception.

3.) try to check your network settings, I only use 3G/wcdma, when using data access( internet on phone etc.) after that i switch to 2G/gsm

I really did what uliwooly said last week i changed my sim ..was very old and scratched.

Indeed the 3G signal from orange operator in my contry(romania) isn`t very good.

When i use GSM mode only the battery is more charged / my voice calls aren`t very good at all / internet on edge is slow.

When i use wcdma/gsm the battery drains faster / with some callers i hear very very good in my earpiece and the net is faster but the signal is -5ASu...not very good .

I asked maybe there is a program that installs and search the nearest tower for me Slightly_smiling_Face

hmm, i've been hearing a lot of low 3g signal in romania, I guess it's about time they level up. Slightly_smiling_Face

my sim is 6 years already, the networks name is not visible anymore. I guess I'll try to change it when I have time. Dizzy_Face

I also have an Sony ericsson k800i - 6 years old - in my opinion the best phone that Se made.

The K800i network is on gsm but with clear voice calls....

The Xperia active on the gsm mode doesn`t hear so clear...and is very anoying Slightly_smiling_Face
