You can use the instructions supplied above by @Alexdon, as the software repair is actually done with the handset powered down and with the device not connected until the last step.
Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps
And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.
If it won't start then I'm afraid to say your only option is to perform a system repair
Performing a system repair using PC Companion will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
Hi Nymphadora,
Welcome to the community,
You could also try booting in to Safemode and see if you are able to get in to the device, you may be able to remove the application from the settings.
In reality, if this does not work the information supplied above would definitely help resolve this issue.
Thank you both but either method can´t be used b`cause the phone can`t be turned on.
