File Duplication

So here's the thing. i noticed that all of my files(music, videos,photos, etc.) are duplicated when i view  using the multimedia default apps. i tried to search these files in the file commander but there is no duplicates found. when i connected my phone(using MSC connection mode) to the pc(win7) and search for duplicate files, i got same results. no duplicates. BUT the amizing part s that, when i used the MTP connection mode to my pc, every files and folders in my sd card is being duplicated with same respective file name. i know that if you duplicate your file, the filename must not atleast be the same, also noticed that the file size of my sd card is not doubled. how is this possible? anyone have encountered this problem? please, i need to fix this asap... thanks

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you clear data for media storage via Settings > Apps > The tab "All" > Media storage > Clear data. When this is done, the phone needs to reload all your media files again which will be done automatically. You can restart the phone to speed up this process. Note that, if you have a lot of media files it can take a longer time before your photos e.g appears again.
