Will the BDP-S363 Blu-ray Player not play AVI videos recorded on DVD-RW or DVD+RW discs??

I am having problems playing AVI videos recorded on DVD-RW and DVD+RW discs on my BDP-S363 Blu-ray Player.  Does anyone know if this is possible.  The same discs do work on a BDP-S370 Blu-ray Player.

Depends on the codec used to encode the avi's, seemingly the earlier Blu-ray player doesn't feature the necessary support, possibly Divx?

Thanks  Catmambo.  Is there an easy way to find out what codec is required?  Is it possible to download additional codecs to the S363 if the player firmware is already up-to-date?

No possibility to download new codecs I'm afraid. Codec support got a lot better between 360 an 370. The 380 doesn't add codecs to the 370, but does include NTFS support for Hard drives which is pretty useful.

Hi Sorry the BDP-S360/363 does not support this function,  only MP3 and JPEG files are supported on this model
