Hiya

The very top review on amazon seems to suggest that it does support subtitles - http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SMP-N100-Network-Media-Player/dp/B0042SDDXM

But let me check with one of my colleagues and get confirmation. The language of the subtitles is not important as devices will simply display the text within the subtitle file whatever the language. What is probably more important is the container as I think there are a couple .srt and .sub.

Will feedback.

thanks

You can plug an USB keyboard to able to type in words. But I don't know anything about greek subtitles. Firmware update can be done only via internet.

yes you can plug a usb keyboard, ....but when you  have also your hard drive plugged...what do you do?

From a picture i saw there was only one usb port available.

Now regarding the subtitles, ...maybe SONY support can answer to this. It is very important for countries not speaking english to have the availability of subtitles. It loooks great machine, but everything as you know is judged on the details

thanks for your reply:smileyplain:

first update to the latest firmware

make sure to include the file name with the .srt  having the same name

sample1.mkv

sample1.srt

use the control button subtitle to change it

if you cannot play them, try to edit the srt file.  right click on it ...open with... note pad.

down to the left choose utf format and save..as

I have managed to play subtitles. I concur you have to ensure the media file name is the same as the .srt. You can only play a film and subtitles from a drive connected to the USB. It does not work wirelessly from a DLNA. I assume that this is becuase the sony cannot cope with two files at the same time.
