My partner has just bought a Sony DAV-DZ330 but we are having difficulty getting the TV sound to come through the system speakers. I have a HDMI and SCART lead connected but can only seem to get the standard 5 channels (analogue) through the speakers. Our TV is about 2 years old (if that), it's an LG37LF2500 and has built in Freeview. I have tried everything in the instruction booklet (system audio control) but to no avail. Someone please help as i'm getting earache for this lol

Hi,
what you need to remember here is that theres not a lot of channels broadcasting in dolby digital, try your set up with a blu ray film and see how that sounds.
oh, forget the scart, if the blu ray works fine, try connecting an optical cable from the tv to the DAV then any sound broadcast in dolby digital will play through it (check settings for optical input)

Hello BeeTeeYooKay,
Thank you for your post.
As you succeeded to get the sound output with analogue channel, that mean the Sony DAV is OK.
I believe the problem related to some setting for the LG TV or you may try Optical cable if the LG is equipped with.
Regards
edited for the spelling of optical cable
