Sony BDP S480 HDMI output switches off in-between trailer when watching blu-ray disc

Hi I have just bought a sone S480 blu-ray player. Tried out the internet and DVD playback etc, and all was good.

Problem with blu-ray playback though: When watching the trailors before the movie, inbetween each trailer the HDMI output seems to switch off. This means my TV defaults to its 'no input' blue screen. When the next trailer starts the picture comes back and the next trailer runs as normal. This makes movie watching very messy and clunky. Am thinking of taking the player back if this isn't resolvable.

Is this a settings issue or is it a fault with the player?

Hi,

its likely to be a settings issue possibly in screen settings or BD/DVD viewing settings, you should not be seeing a blue screen between film trailer ads at the beginning of the discs, its usually black in between.

since DVD playback has no issues its likely to be a BD setting.

check your settings once more and see.

oh, i should add if your using 3D you will need a high speed 1.4 HDMI cable.

Hi,thanks for your reply.

I have played around with the settings and cant find anything obvious that would prevent the HDMI signal from cutting out between trailers. Any suggestions?

FYI, TV = not 3D, Philips 32" PFL5322/10
