I have a Sony RDR HXD 1095 for 2-3 years and recently am getting problems with picture quality. Generally recording from Sky Box or Saorview STB. Hard to descibe problem but it is very evident with close-ups of people's faces. The faces appear to shimmer or morph - like there's a few layers moving relative to each other. This effect is visible during recording or playback - but not on the original.
Playing discs previously (successfully) recorded on this machine also displays the same problem - so the issue seems to relate to the machine itself rather than any problem with inputs etc.
Could age be a factor - machine is 2-3 years old and used almost daily?
