No User Interface with my BDV-E4100

So I just purchased this 2 days ago and just had time to hook it up. All goes well but I turn it on there is no menu, user interface. The speakers work only with Blu-Ray discs and it actually players them but I can't look at the settings of the actual blu-ray player or anything. It just gives me a blank screen. Everytime I switch it off and back on it shows set up on the player but nothing is shown on screen.

Any ideas of what I can do to fix this?

Hi there

Are you saying that you can play (and display) bluray disc's ok.  But its only the UI that wont display?

Can you check on the front display panel that the HDMI light is lit up?  See pic below:

HDMI is lit up yes but that's all that's lit up and it says 'TV'

That this hint - "TV"

Press the [Function] button on the remote control repeatedly, until it displays "BD/DVD"  and see if that resolves your problem on access the UI on the BD.  Make sure you switch your TV over to the correct HDMI input as well.

Nothing appears. I can play blu ray movies but it's a blank screen before I start them. It's like it has no UI at all. Just got the surround sound working with PS4. Just no UI I can't see anything to player around with settings. Seems faulty what do you think? Speakers are working fine it seems like the Blu Ray player isn't

I dont think its faulty, its just hard to determine (in my case) on whats actually going on, without being there

Try playing a disc, and press the [Options] button on the remote control.  Is it still blank?  Is "TV" still displayed at the front?

EDIT: Also try pressing the HOME button - this should pop up the menus

That menu appears when I'm playing a Blu-Ray movie and press options. A side menu appears and it says GUI on the player.

Im sorry, but I just cannot seem to figure it out.  I dont think its faulty.  I think it would be best to contact Sony Support tomorrow in regards to this.  I personally think its a simple issue - but again, I cant figure it out.  Its annoying me though.
