I purchased a 42" 5 year old plasma monitor just before Christmas to use as a tv and it was working ine. However, last week it decided to show a negative colour image. Although I have been watching iy with a colour spectrum in front of me, to work out the colours, it is not a pleasant experience. I have searched the internet for help, but although I have found lots of people asking for help with the same problem, none seem to have had it answered. I would really appreciate any advice and hope it will not be too expensive to rectify. The model number is pfm-42b2e which no longer appears to be supported on the Sony site.
I'm leaving this here in cas it helps anybody else, but I have just solved my problem. When going through my menu's again, in desperation, I went to the config menue, and selected screen saver. I saw that pic inversion was on, so I turned it off and the colours reverted to normal. I don't know why that happened because I wasn't messing with anything when the colours swapped in the first place after several hours viewing. Still I'm very happy and now appreciate the correct colours more than I have ever done before. Hope other people with the same problem see this and are helped.

Solved! Go to Solution.
I'd drop it into your local service centre and get them to check it out. Details at the top of the page.
Thanks
